You and your mates are GREAT!

Friday night I reconnected with some of my girls - A & K.  Sisters that I grew up with and plan on getting old with.  {see Summer Days & Nights of Nostalgia}

Since they're both married with kids, it's hard to go out all the time, but we're managing.   Besides which, we have to be careful.   We're trouble when we're together.

I knew what kind of a night it was going to be when our plan was to meet at 7 for dinner and I got a call at 4:30 telling me to meet them ASAP at our neighborhood pub.  Needless to say,  we started early.

Reservations at 7? We made it to the restaurant around 7:30.  We needed to finish our beers first and dinner could wait.

2 hours, many bottles of wine and a million laughs after dinner we went to another neighborhood pub.  A great English & Irish place that I typically don't frequent because of embarrassing memories.  You see once I gave the bartender my bra {it's a long story} and I hate walking in there because EVERYONE remembers it and tends to comment on it.  Besides which, Curly and The Irish Prince hang there - it's best I stay away.  Though in retrospect, what an interesting 3- way that could be!

But I didn't stay away and we had an AWESOME time! Now I remember why I love that bar so much.  Caffrey's, darts, and shots - What more could 3 girls want?

Curly actually showed up and we all had fun for awhile.  We taught him to shoot darts (can you believe a 40 year old that hasn't played?) and drank several beers together.  The girls liked him {I never said he wasn't nice - just that he doesn't have a clue} and I know he had fun too.

After Curly left, I also got a nice surprise.  A young chap from New Zealand hit on me.  That almost never happens - and it was fun.  He said and I quote {in the best possible down under accent I can muster} " You and you're mates are GREAT!"  We flirted and then I realized it was time to go.  When you start talking about "sucking the grill off a Rolls Royce", it's time to pack it in.

The girls and I hailed the cab and on the way home laughed about the previous 4 hours.  They both agreed that the New Zealand guy was a cutie and he wanted me! We also agreed that K was way better in darts than the rest of us and that A just could never stop giggling.

You know what? My mates are great.

Thanks for the great time A & K.  When next month?
