Support
our Troops!!
Regardless
of how you feel about this war, President Bush’s motives, or anything else, it
is our moral DUTY to support our troops!! These men and women are out there
fighting for our country and some are even giving up their lives to protect us
from the threat of terrorists and a madman with a hatred of all things American.
I
get so angry when I think about these protesters and what their ignorance is
doing to the morale of our soldiers!!
My heart goes out to the American soldiers and I think it’s our
obligation to show them that we care.
Not EVERYONE thinks they way these protesters do.
Their
arguments for “No War” are ridiculous.
Last Thursday I watched as
demonstrators from my old high school, Lane Tech stormed out of classes and
walked around the school.
Watching it, it was hard not to see that they did it to get out of class
and get on TV.
They hooted, hollered, made stupid screaming faces and the peace sign at
the many TV cameras.
Not ONE person interviewed had a clear, concise argument on why we
shouldn’t be at war.
One kid even said it was all about the “SUV’s, man, the SUV’s”.
What a brainless wonder he was.
I honestly weep for our future when I think about him.
I'm thinking he should ride his sticker-filled skateboard out of America and
never return.
What
made me even angrier was that NOT ONE news camera asked them pointed questions
about WHY they were protesting.
Why doesn’t the news media, rather than simply showing these
asses {I’m sorry if you’re offended by that – but that’s what they
acted like}, ask them if they would like to have a repeat of 9-11 but this time
have their school blown up?
How about asking them if they’d like to live in a country where they
can’t get food, water or medical attention if they don’t believe in what
their tyrannical ruler believes in?
What about asking them if they’ve thought for 1 second about the fact
that Saddam Hussein wouldn’t think twice about ordering someone to kill them
instantly if they were sent over there.
His own people are terrified of him.
Would they think differently if it were their mom, dad, brother,
sister or friend out there fighting for their freedom?
Does
anyone remember the horror the Vietnam Vets had to endure?
Have we learned NOTHING from the past?
I was a child, but history has taught me that whether you think ANY war
is right or wrong, SOLDIERS need respect!
They are the ones putting their lives on the line so that we as a country
can have the right to demonstrate.
Nobody
that supports the troops is PRO-WAR.
We are simply normal, intelligent people that realize that something
needs to be done in Iraq.
We are being PROACTIVE in a fight against the threat of terrorists.
Like it or not, we live in a world where it needs to be done.
Anyone that thinks differently should simply remember September 11.
Remember those people that went to work like any other day and
didn’t come home.
Remember those firefighters & police officers that were trying to
help and lost their lives in the process.
Think about the children of those people that will never get to see their
mommies or daddies again.
People
are complaining about the cost of this war.
How can you put a price tag on the lives and safety of American’s?
We’re already billions of dollars in debt, what the hell is a few more?
Who cares?
Really, in the scheme of things, isn’t the idea that we now exist in a
world where we live with color-coded terror threats more important than the
national debt? Think outside the box people - outside the box!
My
heart breaks for the Iraqi people, even the soldiers.
They are ruled by a madman and are being forced to live a life no one
should live.
The soldiers will be killed by their own people {Iraqi fanatics} if they
surrender.
If they don’t surrender, then they must endure the wrath of our
soldiers.
Some Iraqi soldiers are using women and children as human shields.
Yet, there are people that are still protesting that we shouldn’t be
fighting this war, against this man and some of his people?
Today
I heard that some protestor threw a gasoline bomb at one of our naval
bases. What do you suppose will happen to him? Chances are he'll get
a slap on the wrist but nothing more because he lives in a country where he can
claim it's his right to demonstrate and protest. Call me cruel, but that
asshole should be flown to Iraq and then strapped to a missile that was aimed
directly towards an Iraqi target. I also think the officers of the naval
base he targeted should get the honors of strapping him on that missile too!
Seems only fair - right? I mean he was trying to hurt his fellow American's to
protest his feelings. Those naval officers should be able to show him our
feelings as well. But you know what? They wouldn't do that.
They wouldn't dream of it. They defend his right to protest. Good thing
I'm not in the military - I'd have a court-marital in a nano-second.
I
am not a conservative, nor am I a liberal.
I am an American citizen that considers herself lucky to have someone
like Daniel Gomez protecting us.
I
have a dear friend that is a Sergeant in the Marines. Since 9-11, we have
wondered whether or not he will be shipped out. I have prayed many, many times
that he won't have to go. He hasn't been yet, but that could change in an
instant. He's ready and knows it's his duty to go when and if he's
called.
I
pray for Daniel’s safe return and ALL our troops safe return.
I also pray that President Bush and all the military and government
officials in charge of conducting this war have the guidance and wisdom they
need in order to resolve this quickly.
I
also pray that those ignorant protesters do a little research.
I hope that they open some history books and see what an oppressive
dictator or fanatic can accomplish.
Our forefathers have fought men like Hussein before.
Never forget that those soldiers fought for and guaranteed us a place to
live in relative peace.
Now, men like Hussein and Osama Bin Laden have taken our peace away. In
it's place they've left color-coded terror threats, suicide bombers and weapons
of destruction.
If
after those protesters read & remember about our history, especially
remember 9-11and then still disagree with the war, perhaps they can find it in
their hearts to still support our troops.
If they can’t do that, then I pray that they move to a different
country, because we certainly don’t need them here.
