Acting - Part 2
11:22 a.m.
It's 11:22 and in about twenty minutes, I'll be on the road and headed for my last performance of "It's a Wonderful Life." And it's begun to hit me that today is really a sad day.
Over the last couple of months, I've gained a whole new family. A theater family. And I love them all in their own little ways. I'm the only one of them that lives in Lingle, while the rest of them live in Torrington. I've gotten email addresses, and we've started making plans to hang out even when we're not on stage. But still, I'm truly going to miss all of them.
I'm going to miss Katie, with her bubbly personality, and I'm going to miss her friendship. I'm going to miss Dana K. and the way that she always has a smile on her face, her positive attitude and the way she makes friends with everybody. I'm going to miss Danna with her sarcastic sense of humor. I'm going to miss Amanda, she was the first person to befriend me, she's my hair twin, and I'm going to miss even her horrible hiccups! I'm going to miss Peter ( who is now my new boyfriend) and his sense of humor and his way of making everybody happy.
9:00 p.m.
Well, I just got home from the cast party, and I'd have to say that I'm happy. Our last performance went on without a hitch, and everything was perfect. The last day in the green room was very interesting, we joked around about our theater family, we played games and (as usual) we got yelled at several times to be quieter. There are many, many memories within that room.
My last performance on stage was one of the better ones. I yelled and screamed and I got my $242.00! Everyone kept on telling me how wonderful I had done, and I was proud of myself for making other people love me for something that I loved to do.
Our cast party was a blast, we watched the tape of ourselves and we joked around and hung out as if we all had known each other for years, instead of just a couple of months. We ate pizza, drank pop, and laughed at various parts in the play where we had messed up but the audience hadn't noticed. Things were good. No, things were GREAT.
I've come to realize that the time I had spent with the cast and crew of "It's a Wonderful Life" was well spent. I've made friends, and I got to spend two months with some of the greatest people I have ever met.
I can't wait until I can spend time with all of them again! Next play... Guys and Dolls!
