Mango Margarita’s and Rambo in the sun…

A few weeks ago one of my touchstones and I went to a lovely little spot at the southern tip of Baja Mexico called Cabo San Lucas.  It was a place filled with beautiful beaches, lovely resorts, fishing fleets galore and yes, Time Share Salesman – the new pirates of Cabo!

We left the cold on a dark Saturday morning and arrived in our little paradise ready for some relaxation.  We each brought a new book (I had 3), our bathing suits and a credit card.  We figured we wouldn’t need much else.

The 1st afternoon we donned our suits and headed towards the pool.  As we felt the hot sun penetrate our lily-white bodies, we ordered Mango Margarita’s from our pool waiter.  We sipped our drinks and looked out onto the ocean.  “Hell.  We’re in hell”, I exclaimed to LR.

That night we went to a Mexican Fiesta at our resort.  After the buffet dinner {with tequila shooters on the way in} we watched the floor show.  Nothing major to report.  Stupid American’s doing tequila shots; Mexican dancers doing fire performances and a mariachi band with a lead singer that thought he was Frank Sinatra.  I think we were in bed by 10 p.m.

I’m going to skip a lot of nonsense and give you our itinerary for the week:

SNOW!! YUCK!!!

So, as you can see, we did a lot of lying in the sun.  That’s what we went for; that’s what we did.  We each finished our books; then we each finished another one.  I started my 3rd on Friday and finished on the plane ride home!

At the “No Gracias” beach – named for the MANY, MANY times you must tell the local merchants “No Gracias” – I met Rambo. He was our waiter on the public beach and proceeded to bring us many buckets of Corona.  He also gave me a backrub that made my insides melt.  I know there was no reason for him to touch my naked tan flesh, but it was worth it.  L and I dubbed him the “Mexican Dick-Boy”, as he resembled the Dickboy in many ways.  Out of respect for L – I opted NOT to invite him back to the room.

Our trip was exactly what we needed.  Mango Margarita’s; lying in the Sun and quality time spent with a touchstone.
